CHARACTER

Name: Felix Dawkins
Canon: Orphan Black
Gender: Male
Age: 23
Wing Color: Bright green, with dashes of blue and purple, rimmed with black. Somewhat like a peacock's plumage.

Canon Point: End of Episode 1.10 - Endless Forms Most Beautiful
Canon Point Explanation: This is the last episode of the series so far, so Felix is as canon-updated as possible. This also means that he's aware of body modifications, which will cause a pretty amusing reaction to the wings.

History: A wiki here.

Jordan Gavaris, Felix's actor, believes that Felix had a troubled childhood. Bullying on the playground during school days was probably a common occurrence, and he grew up very much an outsider.

Personality:

Felix Dawkins is ridiculously dramatic and is ruled by his emotions. This comes out in his art, his dress style, and his body language. Much like a cat, he seems to sprawl everywhere, and his gestures are usually very open and wide. Felix is very much a survivor. He is always looking out for himself and for those around him, and as much as his flamboyance seems to be his nature, it's also a part of his defense mechanism, to prevent himself from being misled or hurt. He's quite sarcastic, and often brings unneeded levity to otherwise serious conversations with snark. He tends to respond to things that are odd or things he doesn't understand with humor, and he uses his deadpan to appear composed when he might actually be frightened or shocked.

Felix is quite intelligent, but it comes with a downside. His ego is rather large, and he has the tendency to be judgmental and mistrustful of others. He does have somewhat of a superiority complex as a result, and he's not modest at all. He is unapologetically blunt, which can be both a good and bad thing depending on the situation. Additionally, he's definitely a gossip, and he's prone to prying into other people's business without a second thought to it.

When it comes to those he's close to, he's incredibly loyal and protective. While he can be a voice of reason, surprisingly, he tends towards supporting others rather than actually stopping them from doing stupid things. In the show, he occasionally acts as his foster sister's conscience, and no one is more important to him than her. This begins to translate over to his sister's clones as well, as he provides emotional support and pep talks for both Alison and Cosima towards the end of the season. While he himself is distrustful, others tend to find him trustworthy.

Felix is supremely confident of himself, and this isn't any different in the bedroom. With a healthy (if a little overactive) sex life, it's obvious that he likes to enjoy himself. He isn't quite commitment-phobic - steady relationships just seem boring to him. In addition, many of his flings provide an income for his artistic endeavors. His wanting to make the most of life means that he's an outrageous drinker and that he parties a lot. In general, he doesn't see a point to not having fun with things.

His fashion sense and lifestyle tend to make him a bit of an outsider, but it's certainly by choice. Felix could care less about what others think of him, and he's always himself. As a result, he can be a little bad at acting out parts, as seen in the show - while he can keep Sarah's secret throughout the series, when he's confronted with someone who knows the secret, he's bad at covering up for her.

He does, however, have an intense fear of being alone. While his foster sister, Sarah, was definitely a wanderer, she's always been around, and Mrs. S. and Kira have always provided a solid rock for him. He's very afraid to be without anyone, and he has a need to surround himself with people at all times. He is very extroverted - while he has a lot of energy, he needs to be able to bounce that energy off of others in order to remain satisfied and happy.

Felix doesn't often get angry, as he doesn't like to let things phase him. When he does get angry, however, it's explosive. He holds grudges like a pro, and has no problem with verbally dressing down people if he deems it deserved. However, he's not very good with actual violence. He can't really defend himself, and he reacts to punches and blows passively, almost as if he's used to them.

In the end, what defines Felix, in some way, is his moral ambiguity. He isn't a 'good' or 'bad' person, and he doesn't look at the world in that sort of dichotomy. He does what he can to survive, and he doesn't pay much attention to his actions beyond how they'll affect him and those he loves.

Strengths
Physical: Felix is pretty attractive. While this might not be a conventional physical advantage, he's not above using his looks to extort things from people, whether it be money, information, or sex. He's also shown to be rather quick on his feet, and is decently fit.
Mental: Felix is very intelligent. He's shown to be able to think through and make connections when it comes to dealing with the clones, and he's good at making decisions. His logic could save his sister's neck in many cases, if only she ever listened to him. Felix is a voice of reason on the show, and he's often shown in the role of being his sister's conscience. Additionally, he's extremely clever, shown by his tendency to have a witty remark for every situation.
Emotional: Felix is the show's breath of fresh air, with his snark and his charm. He is supremely confident of himself, and is very comfortable in his own skin. He is also very good at supporting others and extremely loyal. After spending just a short time with him, Alison (one of the more paranoid clones) is able to trust him completely, and he offers her emotional support as if they were related. He's very protective of those close to him, and while he isn't often able to actually protect them from harm, he does make sure they know they're loved by him.

Weaknesses
Physical: Felix isn't particularly strong at all. He's weedy and light, and is shown to be easily thrown to the ground by those stronger than him on the show. He's also not very good at defending himself from being hurt.
Mental: Felix isn't very book-smart - while he has the potential, he's never shown to have a particularly in-depth knowledge of any field (besides art, perhaps). Additionally, he's only street-smart in some senses. Although he's had to struggle to survive his entire life, he has his moments of saying stupid things that end up with bad consequences for him. While Felix is decisive, he's very bad at lying on his feet, and most of the times he tries to cover up for someone on the show without preparation, he fails miserably.
Emotional: Felix can be extremely jealous. When Sarah and Paul spend the night in his loft, it's obvious that he's displeased (whether he's jealous because Paul is taking Sarah from him or because Sarah gets to sleep with Paul, we're not entirely sure). To add to this, he is prone to holding grudges. He doesn't like to let things go, and he can be a very petty person. His superiority complex and his ego are often traits that are most irritating other people.

Anything else?: Felix canonically prostitutes himself in order to garner funds for his artistic endeavors. I was just wondering if you would be okay with allowing him to continue this, non-explicitly - otherwise, he can find a new occupation!

SAMPLES

First Person: Test Flight meme.

Third Person:
Clones versus wings.

It was the debate going on in Felix's head as he looked through a rack of clothing. Shopping had become something to do to occupy himself while he thought more than anything else; he wasn't actually planning on wearing any of the outfits he could find. Rude kidnappings and genetic modification aside, not being able to find a decent set of clothes was definitely the worst thing he'd discovered upon his arrival at Luceti.

The genetic modification wasn't actually that bad, as a matter of fact. Although he wasn't absolutely sure he was a fan of suddenly becoming a "freaky Leekie" without consent, wings were infinitely preferable to some of the things he'd heard of. An involuntary shudder went down his spine as he remembered someone mentioning Olivier's tail. Yes, wings weren't that bad at all.

The only problem, really, was that he couldn't brag to Sarah. Or talk to her. Or contact her at all. He knew, in some corner of his mind, that she was probably searching for Kira, helped by Cosima and Allison, and that he should be glad because that was a good thing. Yet he couldn't help but be slightly jealous. With the knowledge of her clones had come a new family for Sarah, at least eight other people who were bonded with her in a way he couldn't imagine, let alone replicate. And now that he was gone, she had the chance to get even closer to them.

He managed to keep himself from gagging at a particularly unattractive shirt (probably straight from the closet of some square) before moving to the next rack with a theatrical sigh. The clones versus wings debate was stupid, he finally decided. It was like comparing apples to oranges. He had to live with both of them anyway, so why waste his own time? Finally, he pulled out an over-sized white t-shirt, looking it over before nodding. It'd do for setting on the floor to prevent paint from dripping onto the wood.

Not much is known about Felix's early life. An orphan boy, he has been raised by Mrs. S., his foster mother, since the age of three. He's also tagged along behind his foster sister, Sarah, since then. His intense loyalty started to be developed around this age, as their immediate sibling dynamic was undeniable. At some point between being adopted and the present day, Mrs. S. moved with Sarah and Felix from London to Canada.

Now, he's a struggling artist living alone in a loft in downtown [insert city here], Ontario, Canada. Sarah has been missing for ten months at the start of the series, and so, he's been keeping in frequent contact with Mrs. S. and Sarah' daughter, Kira. He also prostitutes himself out in order to garner funds for his artistic endeavors.
